Job Description

Kunkel Engineering Group is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Design Engineer/Project Manager in our Beaver Dam office. Ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker and group leader who is self-motivated and budget conscious. Candidate should also possess effective communication, team building, and project management skills. Candidate must have experience in designing municipal projects and project permitting.

Job responsibilities include design and permitting of municipal public works and utilities, assistance with construction contract/project management and administration.

Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design related programs required. Candidate must be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin or capable of obtaining a license to practice in Wisconsin within two years of employment. A minimum of 3 years of experience desired.

Job Description

Kunkel Engineering Group is currently seeking talented, experienced Building Inspectors to support different sectors of the state. These positions offer great opportunities for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments.

Sector 1 – Washington and Dodge Counties
Sector 2 – Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Waushara Counties
Sector 3 – Winnebago and Waupaca Counties

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Read and examine plans and specifications when required
· Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
· Report violations and maintain files/records
· Perform other related duties as required

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
· Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
· Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
· Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, contractors, the general public, governmental entities, and other clientele
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
· Knowledge of municipal zoning ordinances and codes
· Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· State of WI Commercial Building Inspector certification
· State of WI UDC Construction, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical certification
· Minimum of 3 Years of experience in municipal code inspections
· Knowledge or experience with Zoning Administration (not required)
· High School or Equivalent
· Good Driving Record & valid WI driver’s license
